Dear Friend, It may be the middle of summer, but no matter the season or time of year blueberries are always a welcome treat. And you and your family are invited to join us on Saturday, Aug. 2nd, for a special blueberry picking benefit for WaterWatch at Muir Blueberry Farm in Hillsboro, as Muir Farm donates all of its blueberry-picking sales from the day to WaterWatch of Oregon. Located at 30350 NW Scotch Church Rd., the event runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Members of WaterWatch staff and board will on-site from 8 a.m. to 12 noon to welcome guests and supporters, and talk more about WaterWatch's ongoing programs and campaigns to preserve Oregon's rivers and streams. |

Self-picked blueberries at Muir Farm go for $2.50 per pound, and you should plan on bringing your own containers to take them home. Also, a reminder that early August can get very hot in the Tualatin Valley — the northernmost extension of Oregon's Willamette Valley growing region — so we encourage you to arrive early and dress for comfort. To get to Muir Blueberry Farm exit U.S. Route 26 at NW Jackson School Rd. and go south. Keep right at the roundabout and go west on NW Scotch Church Rd. for about one mile, and look for the Muir Blueberry Farm sign on the left.
